In the lovingly cared for green areas of the Erding tourist region young and old meet for a stroll, a chat, to play with their children or to walk or jog. Popular meeting places are our market and town squares. Surrounded by a backdrop of historical facades you can relax in one of the cafes or restaurant terraces, as your heart desires.
Town park in Erding
The Erding town park is located close to the centre of town, an oasis of peace and quiet with many charming places where you can spend time on the banks of the river Sempt, climb the Ladder to Heaven (a viewing tower), stroll along the art trail or jog the short jogging track and exert yourself on the keep-fit trail. There’s Celtic adventure play area, Weniadunum, and a petting zoo for children.

Gnome Forest in Taufkirchen
A popular destination for families is the Gnome Forest in Taufkirchen. Visit the Gnome Village whilst enjoying a nice walk through the woods. There’s always something new to discover there and more than 500 little people to admire.

Public park in Taufkirchen
The public park is very central and offers a long fi1tness trail with 15 different devices where you can carry out the exercises as illustrated in the descriptions at each device. Included are exercises for training coordination, strength and suppleness. Fun for the whole family.

Willow Grove in Taufkirchen
At the heart of the Vils township a small nature paradise with sculptures that can be walked through and a 15 m high willow dome has grown up. Over the next thirty years the artist, Harry Seeholzer, has taken it upon himself to develop Europe’s largest willow and sculpture park here. Visitors’ Park at Munich’s airport
Even if you don’t have a ticket in your pocket a visit to the airport is always a special treat. From the viewing hill there is an impressive view of the whole of the airport and you can watch the huge jumbo jets and Boeings taking off and landing. Historic vintage aeroplanes, a rescue helicopter, playground, mini golf and a souvenir shop make the family experience perfect.

Schrannenplatz & Kleiner Platz - Grain Market and Small Square in Erding
The Grain Market at the heart of Erding is a meeting point for young and old, to linger at the Corn Stalk Fountain with a view of the Town Tower and the Little Church of Our Lady, or in one of the bistros and outdoor cafes. In the summertime the Grain Market is the centre of a lot of cultural activities such as sports and music events, markets and festivals.
Market Square in Dorfen
Strolling around, window shopping, lingering and marveling: that is what the large cross-shaped Market Square in Dorfen has to offer. Here there are numerous shops and places to eat and drink along with buildings steeped in history such as the Market Church and the three surviving town gates (Church Gate, Lower Gate and Isener Gate) to be admired.
Market Square in Wartenberg
Enjoy the quiet but colourful hustle and bustle in the small, unhurried market town. The market square with its Marian column and surrounded by many coloured houses, shops and restaurants is the setting for public events.
